President Keith - The Indigenous Moment about the Inuit people
Recognizing the territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy where the Bow and Elbow meet – now Calgary. The Siksika, Piickani, Kainai, Ksinai each hold their histories here. These waters flow through the lands of the Stoney Nakoda – the Chihiki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney first nations. The Tsuutina and Metis also share this area as their home.

Bart introduced Asif Abdul, past president of Calgary North and Millenium clubs. Asif is a dedicated humanitarian and lifelong Rotarian. He has lived in Calgary for over 50 years. His educational background includes Architectural and Structural Engineering, as well as Computer Science.. He is president of Affinity Housing, a not- for- profit organization , which is dedicated to expanding access to stable affordable ownership for working individuals and families, who are increasingly priced out of the housing market. The homes are designed for long term affordability, as follows: homes sold at cost; inflation indexed re-sale values; community oriented; locations near to mass transit and services; long term affordability protection.

There are one and two bedroom units, with monthly payments of $1100-1300. Typical owners make $40k – 70 and are seniors on fixed incomes; single parents; Veterans, persons with disabilities; new Canadians. The first project is located in Forest Lawn.
