Chinook Rotary Youth Programs
Take a look at some of the Youth Programs that Chinook Rotary supports:
The Chinook Rotary club supports the Interact clubs at Henry Wise Wood High School and Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School. Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills and learn about the world through service projects and activities. They can energize and inspire young leaders through service and encourage them to become responsible global citizens.
Further information on Interact Clubs can be found at: Rotary International
Chinook Rotary partners with Roots 2 STEM and Fairview School to provide a STEM education program with Chinook Rotary. Club members provide mentoring and fellowship to participants resulting in a high level of engagement. The program helps build self-esteem and confidence while using experiential learning in the Lab of Discovery building STEM projects.
For further information on this program please contact our Chinook Rotary Director, Youth Services.
R2S Chinook Rotary Programs
In partnership with Roots 2 STEM, Chinook Rotary is providing STEM Education programs. These programs provide experiential learning with projects in robotics, electronics, programming, CAD design, STEM Experience and Aerospace Academy.
Roots 2 STEM promotes critical design thinking and problem solving while keeping youth engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. They provide a safe and encouraging environment for our future leaders of tomorrow.
Further information on the programs can be found at: Roots 2 STEM
Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18-30 to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. Chinook Rotary supports the Rotaract Clubs in the Calgary area with partnership and mentoring.

RYLA events are organized locally by Chinook Rotary for participants ages 14 - 30. Depending on community needs, RYLA may take the form of a one-day seminar, a three-day retreat, or a week-long camp. Typically, events last 3-10 days and include presentations, activities, and workshops covering a variety of topics.

Chinook Rotary might host a RYLA event for secondary school students to hone their leadership potential, for university students to develop creative problem-solving strategies, or for young professionals to learn ethical business practices.

RYLA participants are nominated by Chinook Rotary members.

Rotary Youth Exchange
Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-19 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. Chinook Rotary, in partnership with Rotary District 5360, will sponsor several youth to an eye opening international education.
